Who I serve & why
I provide individual therapy exclusively to MEN (Straight, Gay, Bi, and Trans) ages 18+.

Why Men?
I choose to focus on working with Men because historically Men been conditioned by societies they live in to be disconnected from their emotions and in fact are often taught to be repress their emotions and avoid expressing themselves. They're often taught to be unyieldingly stoic, at the cost of their own well being. Men are taught to assume specific gender and social roles in their lives, present their personalities through aggressive, cold, or emotionless personality characteristics, and are physically encouraged to strive for unrealistic body types. Straight identified men often experience this through an emphasis on hyper-masculine behavior norms. Gay, Bi, and Trans men also experience this, and in addition also face other issues like social and familial discrimination and rejection.

All of this can can lead to terrible mental health outcomes, such as deeply rooted depression and anxiety, self-hatred or self-esteem and confidence issues, eating disorders, a lack of compassion and empathy for self and others, anger issues, an absence of self-awareness, and many other concerns.
As a cisgender-gay man, I've experienced much of this myself. I grew up in environments that enforced and reinforced behaviors rooted in hyper-traditional masculinity, where I experienced discrimination and rejection, was expected to show up in specific ways, hide and repress much of myself, and not express my authentic self.

I want to do my part to change this.

I want to honor the experiences of ALL MEN and create space for healing, growth, and change.

I fully support and affirm all LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, as well as all Black, Indigenous, LatinX, and Asian-Pacific-Islander individuals. I will not tolerate any discriminatory beliefs, comments, or rhetoric.
